The epoxy will sink into the crack without something, and the quartz will probably show a visible line if you try to sprinkle it. Unless you take tweezers and insert the grains into the crack to get it perfectly flush.

Take some caulking and try to force it into the crack, scrap away excess. Then try to put extra flake to conceal it -without looking too obvious.

Please don't use caulking to fill your cracks. Caulking is not recommended, unless it is epoxy caulking..... Even then it may not be compatable with the coating you're using. Just you your 100% solids epoxy to fill the cracks, spot prime those areas first.

I wouldnt do it either. I'd use a crack filler if it were me, or my floor. But he is in a jam, and all he really needs to do is fill the crack enough to not have show through the coating. I'm not saying its the correct way, but in a jam it would work for him -Assuming he does it right before coating -before it cures. Which is no different than epoxy. He's going to want to coat the floor while it still has a chance to get the chemical bond

You are going to spend hours prepping your floor, and if you are using a decent system a fair amount of money and time installing the epoxy. It is just not worth the risk. Buy a crack filler that is suggested by the company who sold you the product.
