Has anyone ever built your own rollaround creeper?
I know I can buy one but don't use one very often and besides I like to build things. If you have built one lets see some pictures

I built one 30 years ago in wood shop. My father was mad the wheels cost more than he could buy one for. He still has it and said I will get it the next time he comes to visit.

I built one because I wanted to get really close to the ground to get under my motorhome without jacking it up. It only has 3/4" ground clearance before I lay down on it so it isn't much good on uneven surfaces but it works really well in my driveway. I'll try and take a couple pictures tonight and post them.

I was thinking about doing this over the weekend but then I realized how much I'd spend on the hardware.

Buy a used old beat up one for the wheels
Tear it apart and use the pieces you want and make it into what you want

I built one years ago. It didn't roll that well so I scrapped it for the HF one. HF as a lot of junk, but the creeper is quite nice. I am very happy with it and if you get it during one of their sales, it will be about the same cost (or less) than you would spend on hardware.

I haven't found a creeper I like yet. A moving quilt or card board for me. They get caught on anything then when u torque on a bolt the creeper moves. I will use a piece of plywood if there's water dripping and puddling up over a creeper but that off road dog bo.e might b ok

I've wanted to build my own as well, but a set of good wheels cost more than just buying one.

My issue with all the OTS models is they are just too short. I've wanted to build myself one that was about 12" longer.

I think I might have my solution in a few weeks though. It's called a 2-post lift!

Hi Guys

My ' Bone ' creeper quit working last week - one of the plastic wheels on the corner cracked and thats all she wrote.

That thing was expensive too!

What I was thinking of doing was to buy a commercially made creeper, and then add some really nice casters on all corners, and then mount the casters to the creeper with plates that would put the 'deck' of the creeper as low as possible while still working with full size casters.

Only catch here is that the creeper would have some caster height to it - while it would be low in deck the four corners would be 4-5" above the ground ( like the bone model )

I'm really thinking that this won't be a problem - just jack up the car to a real height and go, but I was wondering what you all had to say.

I hate creepers!! For me - maybe the most dangerous tool I ever used -- I just use cardboard boxes that windshields come in -- my fat **** slides pretty easy on 'em.

Did you contact them and try to get a new one? They are pretty proud of that stuff and I bet it will get fixed. Best creeper going.
