Actually, that faucet won't work very well as it's shown. Ball valves are great for quick on and off, but not so good for throttling the flow, which is usually what you want on a sink faucet. It would be okay for hose control. Next, you want symmetrical controls for hot and cold, not identical. It will fight a lifetime of past experience every time you use it. Plus the hot handle is awkwardly located. Finally, there's a reason that standard sink faucets feature an aerator on the spigot for a wider, more accurate flow of water for washing.

In the house I grew up in the shower in the garage had the same set up except they were gate valves where the ball valves are. It worked great, you could mix the hot and cold very well.

There was a TV programme on here recently called "Grow your own drugs" about herbal remedies before anyone says anything else! It was set in a fantastic kitchen that looked to be part of an old industrial building conversion in London and they had used 15mm copper pipes run down the wall, with two brass stop ***** and then a furtherlenght of bent copper as a spout over the sink, looked fantastic in the right setting. I'm contemplating doing the same when I build my downstairs bathroom over at my house in France as it would fit in well with the rough stone walls.

I've never had a problem with ball valves in that type of application.
As for the controls, the cold water knob on my garage sink is opposite of all others, it took me all of a day or two to figure out how to use it right.
Lastly, those aerators piss me the f*$# off. I rip every single one of them out as soon as I install a faucet. They're all sitting in a drawer in the kitchen. Water saver shower head? Water saver removed. Other one that wasn't removable? drilled out.
If I want fizzy water I'll buy a bottle of seltzer water. If I turn a faucet on, I want some freaking water, not something that fills a glass then fizzes down to being half full.
As for the rest, it's a damn utility sink faucet, who cares? Frankly, I'll attest to it being a complete ***** to finding a decent faucet for one. I looked for 4 months and gave up. I ended up buying a sink with a mediocre one on it.

Idea is sound, quality of work is half *** at best. Could have at least aligned the pipes so they are straight and positioned the valves correctly.

When was the last time you didn't need 3 or 4 pumps of soap to get your hands clean? Maybe I'm not "normal" and have bigger hands than most or they are just dirty when I wash them, I dunno.
As far as "saving" water with the low flow b/s ... it comes out of the ground and goes back in the ground... it's not disappearing, so I don't see what would be getting saved.

Yeah, the soap thing is retarded. "mix it with 80% water" Umm, if that's needed, why not use 80% less soap in the first place? Tards.

Sort of depends upon where you get your water. If you lived in Vegas where your water came from hundreds of miles away, you would just be saving yourself a bunch of money.
Many areas don't have enough water to support themselves, so it has to be piped in from elsewhere. When people "waste" water it simply means more water is needed which requires additional infrastructure, higher capacity treatment facilities both on the incoming and the outgoing, and thus higher water rates.
So yes the actual amount of water on the planet never really changes, and if you don't mind spending an extra few bucks on water then it probably doesn't really matter, but for all intents and purposes when someone says you are "wasting" water, what they really mean is you are "wasting" money.
I'm not a water-nazi by any means, but I figure why use more than you need to? My toilet works perfect with only 1.6 gallons and my hands get just as clean with aerators in my faucets - so I fail to see the problem. To each his own.
Now as to that faucet - that is idiotic. His soldering *****, there is no movable spout, the valves aren't setup for ease of use, and the entire thing sets on a piece of wood that will rot away within a couple of years. I'm just shocked there isn't any ducttape in use... but maybe that is what is holding it down from below.
There are countless better ways of executing what he was trying to accomplish. I grade that as a blatant "fail".

I guess it's OK if the intent was to save money, if the circumstance was that he already had the ball valves laying around or got them for free...But if he had to go and buy the valves new he is out at least $20...can get a decent laundry sink faucet for that kind of money nowadays, anyway.
The thing is also going to look pretty fugly, once it all gets corroded (whoops...I mean, develops a "patina")...
