Hey guys, if you have been looking at recent thread I been making a blast cabinet out of an old oil tank. Now I have harbor freight powdercoat oven but would like to make a bigger oven for bigger things. My idea is to take another oil tank and make it into a powdercoat oven. I'll probably get recycled parts from other ovens. But what would I need to do to the inside of the walls. Open to suggestions? How will I insulate it? What other materials might I need? Thanks:bowdown:

Saw on another thread here or another board ...Guy used an old freezer, one with a metal liner& fiberglass . I think the only thing he replaced was the door seal...and of course the elements for the heat...:) Shawn

Insulate with mineral wool insulation. Very easy to find and commonly used in houses. The hard part will be affixing the insulation to such an awkward shape.

I might to open to making it w/o the oil tank. Just simply from scratch. But I want to be able to basically walk in, but not taking up to much space. Maybe a little bigger and taller than your normal refrigerator

I use a regular house oven. Not as neat looking, but its functional.
I've seen a guy use steel 2x4 framing packed with unfaced insulation. He built the walls 8' tall. He used gasket at the corners and was able to break each wall down for storage.
For heat, he used 2 old oven coils and controls. It was big enough to do bumpers and bike frames.
Outside was sheeted with galvanized sheeting.
