Ok so I got a crazy idea I need more space and I wand to have a workbench instead of a top box on my next box so I'm thinking about getting two hf 44 inch boxes and making one big box sorta like this

http://garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126086&highlight=steveo&page=3

But mines gonna roll basically like a hf epiq lol my question is this has anyone tried to take the small drawers out of one of these and use the slides to build a power cab type thing thinking I could build it a frame out of wood with peg board as the backing that way I could rearrange the shelves and such and bolt a couple of the slides to the frame so it rolls in and out I just don't know about building a door anyway if anyone has tried it or sees a problem I'm open to suggestions

Sounds very doable. Start with this google image search, https://www.google.com/search?q=pul...HOyQH9j4DYBQ&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1366&bih=642.

I've built a spice rack similar to this before that pulls out. Shouldn't be too hard to do. One thing to work out the details on is your power supply so the power cord won't get pinched when you open and close the slide out.

Didn't think about searching that I googled homemade power cab and the like but never thought about just pull out rack thx for the idea

Have you considered something like this? google search for one of the smaller drawers? This would be the direction I would go if I needed something dedicated like that; you could put a drawer front on it and I'm sure a lock hook on the back, but this design is not intended for the kind of locking that a toolbox would need so it wouldn't be exactly right.

I know most laptops are not the same dimensions as one of those drawers would be so that's a consideration too. I have considered it but never did it myself.

I think you made the same misconception i did, he wants to make a Powercab-to hold powertools, The Powertop holds a laptop or scantool
