I was running a test on my picture posting and one of the guys wanted to know more on my rotisserie. Homemade and on the cheap, compared to store bought. I have a FJ55 body hanging on it for over 6 months and doing fine. Sure beats laying on my back scraping crud, off the body. It can spin 360 degrees.

I used 3 inch square tube, 1/8 inch thick and some DOM round tubing. It was built for the landcruiser, but made to unbolt and resized for my Son's Zuk.

I have under $300 in the metal, I'm no master Fabber, just a bubba with a welder.

Yes, that's how I made it, but it seems so strong without, I never bothered to put them in. When we do my Son's rig, we just unbolt it and put in the right length for his truck.

Nice, was curious if it actually bowed up and down without that bolt. Nice to hear it is strong. And for a bubba with a welder, you got some pretty nice welds there.

Thanks, never was trained in welding, maybe if I live long enough, I'll get it right. As far as it bowing, never did, but that's why I thought of bolting it. That 3 inch tubing is strong stuff.

I did this some years ago with a pair of engine stands modified with a raised mast and new arms to match carbody I was working with. I linked the two stands with some angle iron in between to make it a solid cart.

Today if I were to do it again, I'd cut and stretch the base horizontally of the engine stands to give it a bit more stability if working with larger vehicles.

Sure was nice to be able to roll the body and get easy access to the underside and floorpans!
