honda civic compliance bushing tool

like the title states im looking for the 2001-2005 honda civic compliance bushing tool. I forget who makes it and google isnt being cooperative tonight. It a sort of press that lets you change them on the car without removing them to be pressed out. I want to say its around $150 for the tool.

Personally I like the Honda tool better on a press. It says it knocks an hour off using a press but I don't see how. It's literally another bolt to remove the whole control arm and it takes me like 5 mins. to remove and install the new bushing. Pressing out bushings with a threaded rod and a ratchet like in the picture would take way more time.

hmmm I wonder the diameter is for those pasky GM and chrysler bushings that do the same thing? Ive always just removed the LCA, and use the plates that came with my bearing tool on the press....come to think of it ,I pull the spindle when I do bearing jobs also....Its just too much hassle to do it "on the car".

several techs at my dealer have the same tool. we all use impact on the tool one kit probably has 30 sets of bushings on it. matco guy will warranty the bolt if not its about 20 for a new one. it pays itself off fairly quick.

To each his own I guess. I can't see it saving much time at all. In the time you set up that tool and use an impact on it I'll be done and installing it back on the car from using the press.

At the dealer it was a 2.8 hour job and I could install the bushings and align the front end in 45-1 hr.
If I got a few cars a day (mainly earlier Civic's) I made good money.

i dont own a press or have room for a press or plan on buying a press in the near future.

i have also seen several places on ebay that sell a complete pair of LCAs for around 110, but i was thinking of trying the energy suspension bushing for kicks

Using the hydraulic press is much faster/easier but i have used the other type and they do work well
