Hi, I was at a buddies house and he had a Honda EX1000 Generator dropped off to him to fix, He tried and could not get it to produce power. The guy gave it to him and I gave him $25 for it. I took it home cleaned it up , It ran smooth but would over flow fuel a bit, Cleaned carb and the bowl was gummy. Started it up and no more leaks and I ran a few different items on it and all seems well.

My questions are with no load applied I am getting about 123 Volts and with a load it may jump a little to 125 Volts. RPM is a pretty steady 3600 RPM. There is a HZ meter on it and it has these plastice things that vibrate at different ranges, with no load none move once I put a load the 60 HZ one does. I am assuming I want 60 HZ under load and is the voltage okay or should I reduce RPM to bring it down a little?

The Generator looks New and I figured I can use it around the property to power tools and if we go camping for basic things. It also has a DC outlet for charging Car Batteries.

Get a real hz meter on it. Its more than likely fine though. These things are no where near as smooth as grid volts/hz...thats why they make inverter units.

I have a little 800w inverter generator. Its a handly unit, im sure you will find your very hepfull. Its like having a cordless extension cord.

That is what this is for, I can take it out to different locations on the property where I don't have Elec, take it camping to run basics, I understand Delicate electronics should not.

125 volts should be fine. The Honda inverter genny can handle delicate electronic just fine, in fact it’s one of the selling points.

This isn't and invert Gen. Going to change oil and the plug today and id say for $25 i did well, fires up first pull and runs smooth.

The DC out put is for battery charging i believe, just not sure of the rate and how long do I keep it hooked up.

I believe most of those that have a 12vdc charge side are un regulated and dont shut off when the batterys is full. So use the 12vac side and a bat charger when you can.
