Well, I followed up a lead on CL last weekend and a fairly decent Taiwanese lathe came home with me. Around 11" swing 24" between centers, 1.5HP.A mid-sized machine. 1979 vintage and showing very little evidence of use. Lots of original cosmoline on most of it. Its sort of your generic Taiwan metal lathe and was sold by many vendors through a lot of sticker branding. I really didn't need another lathe, but for $200 I couldn't say no. Anyway, if anyone out there in GJ land has a manual for same, I'd be interested. There's nothing mysterious about the operation, I just want to know what the recommended lubes are, what the various change gears under the end cover do and things like that.
Thanks,
EdT

You ****. I saw that on CL, I would've followed up on it but couldn't get away at the time. If you want to part with it... yanno, I'd be glad to stumble through making it work without directions. :lol_hitti

A picture would help a lot as others may have the same lathe with a different name on it.

AFA pictures go, you are right, but after reviewing how to post pictures on GJ I decided that I really don't want another place where I can't find stuff I thought I put there. I have plenty of those already. If I could just drag a picture from my desktop folder and insert/attach it to a posting, that would be one thing, but apparently that's not the case. So, for one group, it didn't happen since there's no picture and the rest will have to make do with words.

It's about that easy to add an image to a post. Just look for the little paperclip icon above the textarea when you're posting, (not available when using the quick reply box at the bottom of the page), click on that and browse to the file you want to attach.

No idea what's it's worth, but I have the same machine with the Jet logo on it. It's been a great machine.

OP bought his eleven years ago for $200 so there's that data point. Didn't see anything on ebay.
