I have been using an old Porter-Cable 340 1/4 sheet and a newer Bosch 1/2 sheet sander for furniture projects. While I have 5 and 6-inch Bosch RA sanders, I still prefer to use the old-style finishing sanders for the last several grits before finishing. I have recently started using Diablo SandNet mesh sanding sheets. They are similar to Mirka Abranet and stick well to hook and loop pads and eliminate the fuss of punching holes for dust collection.
My question is whether anyone has successfully sourced or made a hook and loop pad for a finishing sander. This would allow me to switch between grits without fussing with those damn paper clamps, which has become a real pain since I have developed some numbness on my fingers caused by a combination of diabetes and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Thanks,
Tim
