I need to know if this plan is doable,
I have a 30x50 post beam building that I am currently installing lights in. I have 10 T8 fixtures which hold 4 bulbs each.
The power source is in 1 corner of the building and the switch will be at the other, so I ran power to a jbox and brought 2 lights into it-power to next jbox with 2 more lights etc...etc...is this proper??will there be a dimming effect or anything?? NOW the last jbox will also have 2 lights and a 14-2 going to the switch, I have researched this and found 2 diff ways to do this, 1 is to interrupt the (black) wire and send it to the switch and back and the other is to use the neutral. Which is proper and are the junction boxes and lights going to work right?

Steve...

If I understand correctly what you've done is okay. The switching should be done on the black (hot side source before lights).

I think we are on the same page. What I mean by interrupt the wire is to go to the switch then come back on the neutral (white) and pigtail into lights.

The hot/black goes to the switch then from the switch to the light's hots/black and the lights whites are connected to the neutral/white.
