Hookit to Stikit Adapter Pad

I inadvertently purchased a large box of 3M 5" DA pads in the Stikit (adhesive) style vs. the Hookit (velcro). I'd prefer not to toss $125 in discs but cannot locate a simple adapter pad that will attach to an electric DA with velcro, that adapts to a hard face that the Skitit disc can adhere to. It cannot be a soft interface.

Anyone know a source?

Most sanders have a standard bolt pattern, 5/16 x 24 I think. Check your sander.

Just buy a stickit pad on Amazon and install it on your sander. I do not know of an adapter, although it may exist.

They are like $10 for cheap ones and up to maybe $35-40 for top shelf 3M or similar.

Good luck!

Your question does not make it obvious what you are trying to do. You state that you bought a large number of Stikit pads but then say you want to attach something to them with Velcro. That's not how it's done. You have an ADHESIVE backing on the conversion pad that sticks onto the Stikit pad and has a Velcro face on the other side where the Hook and Loop sandpaper attaches.

5" are available directly from Starcke (top of the line German abrasives by the way) but they have no holes punched into them. https://www.abrasiveresource.com/5-Conversion-Pads-p/e-5cp-10.htm These holes you could punch out with an arch punch which I get from McMaster-Carr.

I have a commercial account with Starcke so my price is considerably less than what you would pay but you can get 10 of these conversion pads for about $60.
