Hoover ONEPWR cross-compatibility?

With Hoover being owned by the same parent company as Milwaukee and Ryobi, why are they using their own proprietary battery? It seems that Hoover and Ryobi are selling at least 2 vacuums that are the exact same thing but the Ryobi versions use their own batteries which are substantially different. The ONEPWR batteries look very similar to Milwaukee but with some slight differences, does anybody know if they are close enough to be cross-compatible, maybe with a little modification? Or if anyone makes an adapter? Right now I have Dewalt 20V and Bosch 12V tools, but it would be nice if I could ditch the Dewalt for Milwaukee and keep it to 2 sets of batteries and chargers.

In nearly every ase, the answer is "to make more money". Just because they share a parent company doesn't mean there is collaboration in the businesses, either.

If they thought more money would be made by synergizing, they likely would do it.
