Horizontal band saw

I want to purchase a horizontal band saw. The only two I can find in my area are a Jet, or one from Harbor Freight. The Jet model is about $250, the Harbor Freight on sale for $180. Any experiences good or bad with either brand.

Jet seems to be a much better brand. But both companies source the cheapest they can get in China then re-brand them. Check the pics closely, it might be the exact same machine.

I second that. Jet is the much better brand. The HF stuff is from the Chinese prisoners, sometimes they die in the middle of building the piece and another one takes over and maybe misses something, the Jet stuff is mostly from their renagade province of Taiwan. They build nicer stuff there. I've been happy with my Jet purchases. Personally, I'd spend the $70 more on the Jet. If you get a good one (one that feeds straight), the HF model is quite acceptable if you weld cross bracing under it.
