Does insulation still work if it is stacked horizontally as opposed to vertically? I have studs that vary in distance apart from 16” to 24” and everything in between. I ran the numbers and installing 2” thick foam boards with an R-10 rating would cost me around $450 plus another $50 in foam spray. Using R-13 Kraft Faced rolls would only cost me $120. The problem is the fixed width of the rolls. For one of the stud openings that is 25” wide, would I be able to cut the insulation to that width and stack it horizontally up the cavity? Would this work? I know it would be time consuming but I can spread the project out if I can save that much in materials. Thank you all in advance!!!!!
