So this whole build started as an idea when I was doing the common ej22 transplant into my 86 vanagon in the damn driveway! What a pain. Luckily the weather held out and since my attached garage was filled with freezer, laundry room, wife's business stock and all my junk ...... I needed a pressure relief valve... The answer was a detached garage with attic storage 900 sf total

What's an EJ22? And why do people just assume folks know what they're talking about when they use acronyms like this?

BMW owners with their e93 this and e64 that and whatever are the worst at this!

It's like some secret code that only they and other BMW owners can know....

I'm a car guy, but I never referred to a car by it's production number, I guess it's just more of the BMW style snobbery - 'if you don't know then you aren't a BMW guy"

But it's not limited to BMW's, Mercedes guys do it too and now we have a VW guy doing it.....

So, what's an ej22? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

BTW, I own an R55, anyone know what that is?

I really don't think that's the case. Most car guys that I know do the same thing with their respective makes.

oops Sorry for the acronym:
ej22 is a subaru legacy pancake motor like the leaky headed "water boxer" that VW designed from their air cooled motors. It is a much more stable powerplant the problem is getting the the Japanese ECU to speak German...actually it is only 7 wires that need to cross talk...everything else is handled by the Subaru ECU.
