I guess I've lurked long enough and I've finally got some visible progress to show. We bought the place 5 years ago, mainly because of the garage. It's 32x42 with a 12x37 addition on the back of it that was a horse stable/tac room for the previous owner. The addition is 2 rooms 12x25 that I'm in the process of enclosing for an air conditioned shop space/office. The other room which is 12x12 we call the John Deere room for one of our mowers and also houses the compressor.
I removed the sand floor and poured concrete a couple of years ago. Then hung the free used kitchen cabinets a friend gave me. And then I didn't get much more done until just receently.
I finally got windows and doors ordered last November and had my carpenter buddy over on New Years Eve's eve. to get them installed. I can't wait to get the whole thing enclosed and insulated, but my work schedule has a great deal to do with how fast that will go.

It will be my retirement retreat. I'm planning on having a motorcycle lift in there, my tear down table for motor building in a clean space and a desk for doing my ebay work. Sounds like a lot of work for retirement, huh?

Here's what it looked like before concrete, windows and doors.

Made a little progress today. I got a $10 off with a $50 purchase coupon in the mail from Lowe's last week. I went in this morning and bought 2 sheets of Hardee board and a couple other things. I love shopping with discounts. Lowe's also does 10% off any day with a Veteran's ID card, so they are my go to store right now.
I got the boards installed around the doors and it really makes it looked closed in. I saved as much of the old trim that I could from around the old openings so that will be my next step. Just need more $ and more time and someday it will be done.

Well, I've got the outside all trimmed and caulked and ready for paint, so now I'm ready to start on the inside. But I've got a couple of questions.
I've been looking at insulation for my 2x4 walls and all I'm seeing is R14. Is that as high an R value that is available?
I'm also trying to decide on my flooring. I got a killer quote from RaceDeck, but I'm afraid it's still more than my low budget project will allow. Has anyone used a motorcycle table lift on epoxy flooring and how well has it held up? Thanks for any advice that I can get.

I told you it would be slow going. Got the ceiling insulated this morning with the help of a good friend. I probably won't be able to move for days, my old muscles haven't seen that much up and down ladders in years.
