on this website the product description says that the Astro pneumatic version has the same patent numbers like the Matco version.

That astro pneumatic one looks very much like the matco version. I can tell it has ratcheting points, kink relief for the cable and the spring inside the head to assist the jaws open up all the way.

but matco version is the only one that allows for tightness adjustment via a threaded nut at the end of the cable. This is crucial, since most of them close fully with no load on them, but once you put a real clamp and squeeze, the handles bottom out but the clamp is not opened up all the way. And it only gets worse as the cable flexes, after several uses you won't be able to open up the clamps all the way, and believe me most of these clamps need to be squeezed all the way to clear the ******. And once you realize you only need 1/32" more to slide the clamp but you feel the handles bottom out, that literally makes a grown man cry...

I now know what my next new tool purchase will be.....Just finished changing hoses/clamps/H20 pump on a Bronco.
