Not sure if this is the right thread, but i'm sick and tired of buying hose clamps that always loosen up over time or just break. I have heard ABA hose clamps are great, but i have a hard time finding them for a decent price. Any suggestions of where to get some good quality clamps?

Thought of using oetiker clamps? They are a great "permanent" connection used in many OEM applications.

There was a guy in Hemmings years ago who used to have an ad for all kinds of different types of hose clamps, vintage to new.

I've seen the better types in Germany and on German cars. Not cheap. I'm not only talking the standard band ones, but there are ones that clamp and use a nut and bolt combo.

I also used to see better quality ones for turbo hoses (high performance shops and catalogs) and for diesel rigs. I can guarantee you'll find these better stainless clamps at a good diesel supplier. 45psi of boost is nothing to be joking about.

You heard right.

I use some of there clamps when necessary. I get them from a local race shop that competes in the Grand-Am Rolex Series. I know they used to replace the clamps that came on the Cup cars as part of preparing car for competition. Check with a local shop that may be involved in preparing race cars.

The ones I used were steel with a worn roller that was blue in color and appears like it was cast, the blue part that is.

I use hose clamps that are made for fuel injection systems on cars. You can find them at any auto parts place. Not sure if they make them in large sizes though. Theyre just a couple bucks more than the regular kind.

Ive used them on hi-pressure fuel and ****** lines. Years later, no problems.

Hose clamps for turbocharged vehicles (for the pressure piping) are very good as well. Those should be in all diff sizes.

Like the others say. This is one item where cheap means wrong.
I went to a race preparation shop many years ago, walked right in and asked what hose clamps they used. They were quite happy to tell me who they bought them from. I've bought from the same place ever since. Never had a clamp fail.
