Hose pliers ?

I was watching a vid and he used one. That was a lot easier than the struggles I've had. Maybe I need one of those. On wander through Princess Auto, they had two different types of them one like ordinary pliers, the other with double pivots. What the difference in use, besides price ?

From your description it sounds like your talking about hose clamp pliers but there are also hose pinch pliers, hose removal pliers, etc. Do you have a link?

Sometimes I feel like i have an arsenal of hose clamp pliers but, there are two that i use quite often. one is this circle nine pair that is rebadged by many.

Simply they's a pair of slip joint pliers that have wider jaws and grooves that allow to tackle the band type hose clamps with ease.

The second type are the cable operated type for those hard to reach clamps.

I have a set from harbor freight at home and mac at work. They're both like the first link you posted. I use them all the time at work and love them. Never tried the double pivot style but I doubt they would improve anything for my uses.

OK I see what you're looking at. The double pivot allows you to get into tighter areas. With the single pivot you need more room to spread the handles.
Same exact use though, hose removal.
