I picked up one of the cheap hose reels from Lowes and was wondering if anyone had mounted one to their lift posts?

I have mounted both a 3/8 and a 1/2 real on mine. I welded 4 7/16" bolts to the lift column, then used fender washers and nuts to mount the reels, works great.

I'm wanting to make a "SWING" bracket out of 1/2" or 3/4" pipe so the unit can swing some side to side to ease the side load tension when I'm dragging against the rollers and rewind spring..

I won't get to it till late in spring though, after it warms up and I take care of more pressing items.

I mounted one of my hose reels to one of my lift posts.

Just make sure you avoid any interferences with moving parts of the lift.
