My Eastwood Hotcoat powder system has gone belly up after very little use.The powder is no longer attracted to the part and the LED on the power unit is very dim. Upon inspection there is very little to these things. The heart of the tool seems to be a "relay" sized device in the box. Some sort of voltage enhancer. This has no identifing marks at all. Eastwood's answer is to buy another unit at a $100.
What is the proper name for this thing and can I find one with rebuying the whole kit?

Looks like your ion generator may have failed. They are pretty cheap (eastwoods) to begin with. Here is a link to build your own for cheap money with links to parts and unit in action.

I would try retrofitting one of these into your Eastwood's unit

i hade the same thing happin with my eastwood gun.Switched to a h f have had no problems since
