I just this joined this forum, looking forward to some answers. I'm located in Southern Ontario, Canada. For horizontal venting, I know it has to be CAT III stainless. Does this have to be double wall? The kits I see are definitely from z-flex, but does not state if double walled. I am very confused on what I need, I will be using the wall thimble since inner walls of garage are drywall and exterior is brick.

I don't believe CAT III is double. Just follow the manufacturer's instructions and double check it with current code.

I'm in the states and where I live just CAT III with a thimble to keep clearance between combustibles.

Pretty certain Cat III can be single or double wall. The big difference is clearance to combustibles is much less with double wall. Often you can mix and match single and double wall. Use less expensive single wall where clearance isn't an issue, and double wall where the pipe passes through a wall so you can use a smaller hole.
