I recently purchased a Hot Dawg HD60 which should be here later this week and I have been lurking here for a while so I thought I would finally chime in an ask some questions.
I am interesting in installing the unit myself, at least the electrical and HVAC ducting. I might leave the Natural Gas pipe to a pro for insurance purposes.
As for the ducting, I currently have a natural gas furnace and hot water heater right next to the area that I am going to be installing the Hot Dawg unit. The ducting for both of these units combine into one using a wyes (45 degree merge pipe) and go through the ceiling to the roof. I would need to get the exact pipe dimensions to add to this discussion. In any case, I am interesting in piping the hot dawg exhaust into this same flue line. What sizing requirements should I be referencing for this? Has anyone every done it this way? I am pretty sure the HOA would be against me running another pipe out the side of my house or the roof for that matter.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
