I have a 30x40 pole barn garage with a 10' ceiling. Six inches blown in insulation in walls and 10 inches in the ceiling. I will have minimal heat 40-45 all the time and 65 when I am working in the garage. I want the Hot Dawg heater. Would you guys recommend the 75K for my garage?

I'd go the 100K for the price difference and wouldn't think twice. I've got a 75K in a 24X44X12 insulated, and it does quite well. But from my experience if I were building a larger shop such as yours I'd bump the size up. Better to have more than you need that not enough. Oh, I live in WA state so the winters can be bad as well.

I only have a 10' ceiling, so we are about the same size for heating. Do you still think I need bigger than 75K?

Bigger isn't always better in the heating world. Its more efficient to have the unit run for a longer period of time vs firing up and turning off in short bursts. Not that there will be much of a difference between 100K and 75K. Hell I heat my 2200 sq ft house with an 85K unit.

I have the Modine 75K in my 30 x 40 X 9. Fully insulated. A 60K would probably have been fine. I called Modine and they sized it for me. I keep the temp at 50-55 and can bring the temp up to 65 in 10 -15 minutes. best money ever spent IMHO.

I agree with Iroc. Better to run em long then short cycle.

Good point, mine does run pretty steady when the temps are low. The shop where I work in has a huge heater for the application, and you do feel the constant up and down heat swing at times. Not a big deal but it's there.

So the 75K proubly would be ideal, enjoy!
