Hi, Im working on the install of my hot dawg 45 btu and wanted to get some input on how high to put it in 21x22 garage. The height of the rafters is 8 feet. I have the heater in the back far corner on a partial diagonal. It is hung with threaded rods connected to u channel connected to the rafters.

Right now my height is 6'8 from the floor to the very bottom of the heater. I have several more inches up i can go but not sure if i want to or not. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Jobes - Can I ask a question about your picture? Sorry to derail this thread but what software do you use to add measurements, diagrams, etc. to existing photos? Really appreciate any information you can provide.

Thank you!

With only 8' of ceiling height mount it as high as you can. The minimum clearance at the top isn't much on those. Mounting the included brackets directly to the ceiling does meet the minimum clearance specs.

The fan and louvers will push the hot air down low, so don't let the fact that hot air rises make you think it needs to be mounted low.

Just mount it high with your short 8 ft ceiling, like couple inches from ceiling.

In fact, you should check any local codes as they may force you to mount at highest possible. Reason is they generally want it HIGHER than the railing on garage door. This is in theory so you can't run into NG heater with tall vehicle and tear open the NG line causing a problem. Yeah, I know that in back corner that won't be possible. However, plumber I had out to my garage for quote said my "city code" wanted it above the level of garage door rail. This is real crazy for my particular spot as it was off to side near man door, and not possible to even hit with a vehicle !! :eyecrazy:
