I've started to install a Hot Dawg 30,000 Btu heater in my shop. I'll be venting it horizontally. I understand I need category 3 vent pipe and my overall vent run will be 48" (26" from heater to exterior wall, thru a 6" thick wall and 16" sticking out the wall). I'd like to use double wall for safety but here is my question. Do really have to buy one continuous 48" run of the double wall Cat3 vent pipe? The manual says "under no circumstances should two sections of double wall vent pipe be joined together within one horizontal vent system due to the inability to verify complete seal of inner pipe". Do read that to mean one double wall pipe 48' long , not two 24" pipes? Best price i can find for 3"x48" Double Wall Cat3 is $209 and its on back order.
