I have a hot glue gun ( blue point ) that I use to fix the occasional broken tab, or floppy weather strip.
My glue sticks are just about done. Does any one here have a recommendation for a really strong glue stick ? The ones that came with my gun are okay at best, I would like to step up to something a wee bit stronger and hopefully with less threading.

I have never found hot glue sticks that dont make annoying sticky threads all over the place.

With the fast setting epoxies and glues available why would you want to use a glue gun. The epoxy im thinking of for plastic tabs ans such (Lord Fusor 143) would be cured before the glue gun was up to temperature. 3M weatherstrip adhesive black is the goto for any weatherstripping

Whatever you get, get hi temp ones. I'm with G_P, they leave strands but realistically they're pretty easy to take care of once it's cooled off a little.

I think my current ones are from an electronics supply place, but I'm sure they're the same as the ones from the craft store.

yeah we have a bunch of the Dura-mix stuff or what ever 3M is calling it. Some times to me it not worth it to burn up a whole tip and product just to get a tab back where it belongs.

I appreciate everyones help.

Dont always have to use a tip, could always squeeze out on a bondo mixing board or similar an mix with a paint stick, I am assuming bodyshop setting

not sure what temp the snappy gets to, but a PAM gun is super high heat and uses its own glue. i do flooring and you can hot glue tack strip down in an emergency situation with this gun and power stretch it in 5 minutes. most other flooring products require a 2 hour wait, usually more.

i will say i have a cheap arrow i got from lowes. its a medium size gun but has a fine tip. it doesnt get super hot, but does not string. glue stays were you put it. can run an 1/8 inch bead with no issue. im impressed by it. for larger repairs i use the other gun because its too small of a bead, feeds slow, and of course the glue starts to set before you can get a bead on the whole repair. it has its place.

I tried my wife's craft glue gun to reattach the weather stripping to my trailer and I had strings everywhere a major mess.

If and that is a big IF, my gun gets hot enough, this PAM product sounds like it might me the hot ticket. ( sorry for the pun )

Their gun claims 248-428°F. I would be surprised if this gun hits that point, but maybe.....

This is my gun.
