Very nice garage!

I am jelous of you all. I have a little 1.5 car garage. and that is it. It is insulated to the max and has a heater and air conditioner but it is tiny. Not fun for detailing a larger vehicle. The fiance' and I are looking to have a house built and hopefully a nice big garage or polebarn to go with it. That is a year away easily though.

Hi, I'm Brian...and I am a garagemaholic

After MANY years in the saving and planning stages, in 2002 we moved into the house we designed on our computer using 3D Home Architect software. Our friends called it the "garage with attached house" project because it's a 2200 square foot house with a 1600 square foot garage attached, which has an additional 500 square feet of storage space above the large bay. The "everyday" side is 22' wide x 26' deep, and the "fun" side is 22' wide x 45' deep (it widens out a bit towards the back <see pictures>). It has a doorwall in the back facing SW, and a 44" wide fixed staircase to the deep bay's second floor. I still need to finish up some wiring, then get it ready for insulation & drywall. After that (budget con$traint$ notwithstanding :spit: ) I'll be ready to start thinking about flooring options.

Let's see your pix!
Brian

LOL I used to own 3d Home Architect back in high school. Not a bad program for the over the counter type program and for the do it yourselfer.

Too bad you couldn't have floor drains. :( Looks so sweet though!

Yeah, they aren't legal where we live (I asked!)

Brian

I think it is a Michigan Code actually. I work for a municipality and we will allow them but only with oil interceptors, which I don't think are all that cheap but I could be wrong.

Hot Rod,
That is a very nice shop! And quality work to go with it! What's a trim shop without a TV? I had my own trim business on the side a few years back to supplement my income. Very rewarding work. I prefered doing vehicles only with an occasional piece of furniture once in awhile. I got a job promotion which forced me to take in less work due to some travel for my new job and ended up closing up the shop. We moved and yada...yada...yada.... But I kept all the sewing machine, tools and supplies though. Now I'm building my own street rod so I'm low bidder on the interior. It looks like you definitley have a good thing going with the business. Keep up the good work!
