Thinking about investing into one, whats everyones thoughts on brands, experiences etc.

I seen they got eastwood listed at sears for right 150 bucks, 3 heat settings and comes with staples, astro pneumatic has one for the same price, but the coo is china, and doesnt look like it has the the heat settings.

are all staples interchangable with the guns, or do you need Eastwood staple for the eastwood and ap staples for the ap gun?

Any other brands that are good to look into? Im looking to stay in that 150 dollar range.

thanks fellas!!!!!

I don't remember what I paid for mine but it's a dent fix brand and it is amazing. Works great and wouldn't ever get rid of it

I've looked at the astro a couple times. I have a bumper cover on a family members car the is torn, she backed into another vehicle! I've also looked at the ones you put on your stud gun.

Astro is active on this board so send him a PM and ask him your questions.

does the head of the staple melt/settle into the center of the plastic of do you push it flush to the opposite side?

All them years as kids we drilled holes in our ATC fenders and used zip-ties.

I'm on my phone so can't link, or more so I don't know how to! But one of them has some videos on using it. From what I got you heat it up and push the staple in about half way and let go of the trigger. The plastic cools and solidifies with the staple in it. Then just cut the legs flush. Also one of the power block shows did a piece on using them, think it was trucks but not positive.

I use the killer tools compact version on a daily basis at work. It works great. Well built quality unit. Has three different slots for multiple staple positions, and two lights.

Wonder if there's any way my old weller soldering gun could do something like this? Would be perfect if it could since I don't repair a lot of bumper covers and my weller soldering gun just collects dust since I got a soldering station and butane soldering iron.
