Hot Surface Ignitor help

I need a Hot Surface Ignitor ASAP for my home furnace. Anyone Know where I can find one? Could I get one at a Home Depot or Lowes? The part number off the old one is a NORTON 62-22868-02. I tried calling a HVAC place and the guy wanted almost $400.00 to install this $40.00 part that would only take about 10min to install. Any help is appreciated.

dont think HD or Lowes sell parts like the surface ignitor, probably have to find you a supply house later on in the morning.

Yeah, thats what I was kind of thinking. Hopefully I can purchase one through a supply house without any hickups. The HVAC company I called would not sell me one unless he came over and installed it, and I'm in no position to pay $400.00 for it. Thanks for your quick feedback and help.

Are you 100% certain it is the ignitor ?

Quick check. Turn the power going to the furnace off (there should be a switch nearby). Wait 30 seconds and turn back on. If the ignitor comes on and the furnace starts it is likely temperature sensor located next to the ignitor,

I had this several years ago. Was able to light the furnace without igniter by having wife turn up the thermostat and I had a propane torch already lit at the furnace. When the startup sequence began I was able to light the pilot with the torch and then the rest of the fire up sequence continued. At least got me back to 70 degrees from the 50 degrees I was at. Only works for one cycle but can be a bandaid to save you from freezing pipes while you track down an igniter. If you don't mind repeating the steps you can continue for a few days until the part arrives.
