I need to heat water for my shop sink and and for the bathroom sink and shower in my garage.

This is for only occassional use (washing hands etc) and an economical source is probably best as my wife is the original Jewish Scottish Princess:)

The area is easily accessible for electric water tank and the garage also has natural gas (for the boiler in floor heating) but it is on the far end of the garage away from the wash area.

Looking for all ideas.

^ I agree 100%. Use gas so you do not need such a large electric service. I would recommend http://www.noritz.com/n063.html. If you need any more info contact me, I work for a distributor.

Just read that you have a boiler for the radiant. You might want to look into an indirect domestic tank such as a http://www.amtrol.com/boilermate.htm . You could run a priority zone off of your boiler through this. MIGHT be less expensive than the tankless.

I'll look into the tankless heaters

Ian do you hear the thunder, it's your wife whacking you upside the head. Do you hear the ocean, now she's doing the other side.
