Hey everyone. My wife and I recently purchased a new hot tub and I need to get the wiring done before it shows up. It requires a 40amp breaker to run both the heater and pumps at the same time. I was originally going to install a 40amp GFCI breaker in my main panel and call it good. But after searching the manual etc, I need to install a quick disconnect panel near the hot tub. I'm having the hardest time finding a 40amp quick disconnect panel (preferably square D) or one that can accept a 40 that comes "empty". Would I be able to buy this 50amp quick disconnect from Lowes and use it as is. Thanks!

You can put a standard 2 pole 40 amp cb in the main panel. Then at hot tub, install an outdoor rated disconnect with 50 or 60 amp gfci cb. Probably needs to be rated 120/240v so the neutral is also monitored thru the gfci cb.

install a 50 amp breaker in your main fuse panel and install a square D outside power box that comes with a 50 amp GFI at hot tub location, this way you can install a 10 amp circuit breaker in power box to run a electrical outlet also using 1 leg of your 220 power to supply breaker
