Just got a Rotabroach with the #24907 stamped on it. All it has is 2 toggle switches, one for drill and one for the magnet. It appears to be missing the speed controller as of right now it runs to fast for large bits. I removed the cover and I think I see a bridge rectifier (taiwan ac 8103) which leads me to believe that the motor (no markings) is dc voltage.
I have tried all the Hougen reps in Alberta which can't find any info, even tried emailing Hougen but they don't respond.
Also, did they make an adapter to accept a Jacobs drill chuck?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The number you posted isn't familiar. Can you look for the model number or post a picture?

The basic mag drills from Hougen (rated up to 1-1/2" cutter) only have one speed. It's not until you get to their higher end models (2" cutters) that they step up to two speeds.

As for adapters, yes, the current models have the ability to run a drill chuck but the spindle design has changed recently and I don't know what's available for the older models. Again, it would be nice to know the model.

The face plate has hash marks for speed control. The only # I can find is stamped on the side of the base.

Yeah, that's super old. I don't think anything I said applies to that thing.

Thanks for the reply I will check out that link. The brace you say I am missing I do have it but my biggest venture is to adapt a Jacobs chuck.

This is the current part that Hougen sells. It fits the slot at the top and has a 5/8" male thread on the bottom. They only recently swapped over to the slot however so I'm sure the previous part looked different on top.

Look what I found. Also is a photo of the front panel showing different speeds for different size cutters but there seems to be a speed controller missing.
