(No pic...but it's not pretty!)
3. Rustic interior bay door w/ track rail
(Picture a 10ft wood door mortice and tenon construction utilizing 100+ yr old timbers and featuring an integrated personel door)
4. Refurb of early 60's Cavalier CS-64 Coca-Cola Machine

I've always wanted a Coke machine. One of those ones where the top opens and you reach into icy water. That's what the little liquor store had when I was a kid and my Dad would let me pick what I wanted!

That's a Loadmaster Injun...he's the guy in the back 'making it happen' vs "The Bus Drivers" up front. lol. He's wearing a restraint harness that's used to keep him in the aircraft while the Tailgate is open!! Fun job!!

Sooo, I am one that loves the details that are involved in most jobs. This new room to the workshop is one of them. If you've had a chance to look at the Addition refurb thread you'd have seen that I refinished this old wood stove.

Beings that I'm not sure how mu heat this will push out in the little 500sq ft room... I thought why not have a fan in the wall that will pull this heat into another room. I just so happen to have an adjoining 1000sq ft woodshop right beside. My thought is that this fan can eventually warm the entire both spaces if I wish.

I lucked upon a genuine new in the box!!!! 50's window fan. opened only to ensure it worked. Perfect and I'm stoked to have it in the old school room. I had a window previously framed nearby where the fan needed to be... Perfect, I'll just frame a specialized opening there and trim out as needed. What do ya'll think?

An update, with my recent neck surgery I decided to "take it easy" around the shop. SOOOO I tackled the Coke machine (CS-64 Cavalier, early 60's) I'm just looking to turn back 30 years not a total refurb. I've replaced a gasket...they were all pretty good. Unit was very dirty and some rust needed gone. It's not perfect...my painting skills were not with me today.

I couldn't leave this rust.

Now this is clean and repainted

Here's where Im at now. If I can only figure out how to hold this BEAR TRAP of a door hinge open while putting these screw in. IT'S A *****...I'm telling ya

I've plugged up the door area to test the cold... And it has kicked my *** today!!
***TEST FAILED!...blowing hot air, now what. Ive got two cans of R-11 on standby..if it'll take it????? who knows.

My sis picked up this old school hand painted (St Louis, MO) Speed Shop Sign at a local auction. This place set up in 62...I'm thinking the sign was one of the originals. I'm planning to use some barn wood for a frame... The old mounting holes will get covered and the sign should look more finished when I'm done.

My Injun is a Loadmaster Injun. The mighty Chinook, many hours spent passing inflight fuel to those. From Maint. to the Flight Deck...They are a great group of bubbas!!!

I firmly believe that 'being a little nervous" ...and a dash of Luck! Is what allows us operators the ability to make it thru (retire). Privileged to have served with the best of the best! Drop by again.

That last photo is fantastic. Looks just perfect with the drink machine and the sign. Looks like a "Toms Peanut or Candy" dispenser beside it. It seems as if walking into one of the good old stations from the 50's or 60's. You really have a lot of stuff to be proud of.
I can hear The 4 Seasons on the radio singing "Sherry", or "Walk Like A Man".

HSpencer: Thanks, finally getting this stuff on the wall is fun. Lot's more on the way. Tonight I got to install my first nice PAM Clock (Fisk Tires) it's the real deal and dated 1957!! Put it over the threshold between the woodshop and autoshop.
Had an ol clock guy change out the hands and lube/check the mechanism. And I'll be dammed if he didn't leave finger smudges inside the glass..on the face. I had to take it apart..exactly why I had enlisted the help of a clock guy in the first place..hmmmm, Had to clean that, a small and unnecessary delay.. Turned out nice I think. And it keeps decent time so far.

Some old adverts... Introducing the new 1928 Model A!!!!! (I'm building a 2dr 28 NOW!!!!, had to frame this) And Firestone shows children playing in their Firestone Shoes...WHO KNEW???? Had to frame it as well. And their shoe looks very close to the Chuck Taylors that Converse made in the 60s!!! Don't ya think??

Thanks Bryan for dropping in. Also, we may have been twins split at birth. I've got a wood shop as well. I need a CASE globe OR A CASE Eagle on a globe....you got both. VERRRRY Nice!! Love that new building of yours...

So I saved these from a scrap heap years ago. There all metal 15in tall & deep and 3ft long, I have three. My thought is to install them on the back wall and display some stuff along the top..it will of course obscure some of the lower portion of the QS sign but believe it'll all go nicely.
I started off by assessing the shape of the cabinets , where they could use a little tapping and others that need a lil bondo.

Here's how they'll be laid out. See the blue tape.

I'm now stuck on a future color choice. I even thought about having a sticker made (SINCLAIR...as in Sinclair Gas) to span the door faces. Just like this one (not mine)

OR.. Could use an old school Ford theme too. Anyone out there have a business to recommend that could take a pic like this and make a sticker?? A guess on cost??

Been ******* lately working for my daughter on her apartment...but I've managed to add a few items to my shop. I've got some old salvaged lumber that should make a great frame for it.
I'm keeping this one.

I'm sorry to say I sold this one...can't keep everything!!

Don't ya just love when you "find" another project??? Not a fun project like a....car, gas pump, or whatever your flavor of fun is. Yesterday I found the net result in delaying a rain gutter job. The bump-out at the right side of the pic is the problem.

While there's hardie-plank around the building...rain water splashing on the ground up and under the skirt (so to speak) of the hardie...has destroyed the bonding glue of the lower osb. With the OSB overlapping the slab and the hardie overlapping that. Water is able to regularly splash up there. Unsure how high it goes, I'll check today...I didn't want to think too much on it last night.

Picked up this 'trick' 50's Craftsman "lunchbox" tool box.

Dang where does time go??? Regretfully... my project is still underway. Life can take over the schedule. Promise to catch up the with thread pics today.

But come bearing a question. I've made some updates with the shop and will be adding a dedicated cable system feed to is. In my mind it was too far from the house (350ft) to pull a consistent internet and the tv channels were limiting with just a cable running from the house to the shop.

My question... Yesterday I ran a single RG 6 from an outside accessible point (shop exterior) to the inside of the shop. The point that I ran to inside the shop had a previous 4 way splitter that we had previously used with a dish system.

You may notice the ground I've placed there. They said they needed a ground typically found near the electrical meter....that would have taken the job to a distance that the 300ft contract (underground bury) would not allow. So I set them up on this corner of the building that meets 'nearly...318ft' the limit. I'm not sure they will need the ground ran like this but its there...and I'll be at work when they show up to install.

I'm re-thinking my plan... Should I have ran at least two cables to that outside port so that the installer could have connected new RG 11 supply to my NEW exterior connection point AND then there he finds 2 rg6's that I've left him. So that from that point, One cable is dedicated for televisions and the other is for the broadband modem?? I guess I got lazy with only running 1 cable to that exterior point.

So what I came up with was to run an additional rg6 to the exterior box location (as shown above) So there will be a dedicated Broadband modem cable and there will be one that will be the supply for all the cable outlets... that's it.

Thanks for the comment. I am slowing down on my buying...my priorities are changing and this stuff is getting way to high for me to be a player... If your not the guy that finds the stuff where its been hiding all these years.... The current hoarder market / retail market takes over and by then it's all about the $$. I'm envious with your shops organization and cleanliness. At the moment my shop looks like an impromptu yard sell!

Fully agreed on the pricing. The days of finding the good stuff cheap is slowing down a lot. It seems many fleas these days know what a Wilton Machinist Vise is and also what a Craftsman Block Grinder is. I have my wife trained to ask at the desk if they have any of either when she goes shopping without me.
I have redone a lot of stuff but have paid small prices for msot of it.

Don.... Something tells me that you will eventually find what your looking for.! Congrats on that fine tool haul (a few of your pages ago) I need to catch up but I'm guessing that you tore up an estate sale or auction..... GOOD TIMES!!

My new button was just something that popped up while cutting across some previously un-navigated town over the weekend. One of those rare examples of "you never know unless you ask!"

Up to my ears in other projects... my barn is on hold. Was able to finally pick up a nearly new baldor buffer. I made a deal with an ol friend of mine.

Small addition to the shop this weekend via a local yard sale..
From the online pics I could tell it was cherry... Me and another fella pull up in front of the house at the same time...***DANGER***DANGER***. From across the lawn (gotta get in front of this process, I really want this thing) I shout out "what do you got on that grinder?" Owner says, "$80" and I immediately counter with "$50"...owner says "$ure"!!! So now I have just a little cleanup/polishing to do on it. Very smooth running. Stones are in great shape, possibly original. I believe it needs more weight at the bottom...seems a little top heavy. Have yet to date it.
