I have a Keeprite two stage high efficient furnace & AC installed in 2010 . has been flawless except for a coil leak last year .
I've always thought the a/c blower speed was a bit slow but i figured that's the way it is.
But, I've recently discovered , if the stat is calling for cold & the ac is on, if the power goes out, when it comes back on, the fan is at a higher speed. I have duplicated this by turning off the breaker, and also one time by opening the furnace cover.
The fan stays on that speed until the stat shuts off, then on restart it's back to the slower speed.
the higher speed moves more air, it doesn't seem to run as long and the air is still cold ( not like it's passing the coils too fst) I realize there is temp differentials in setting these up, but I'm curious how or why this does this, and if I can set the fan to always be at the higher speed?
