Hey guys,

Anybody know anything about house ac units?

Last winter my father in law hit my ac high pressure line inside the house. Not only did I lose all my freon, oil got kicked out. I am guessing i lost 2-4oz of oil. When we had a friend ac guy come over and fill up the freon he didn't put oil in the system. I showed him how much got kicked out and he went nawww your fine. I just ran my ac for the first time and everything seems to be good. Nothing loud outside other than a small fan vibration or normal vibration that seems like on all ac units. It cooled the house just fine.

Do you think I need to worry about the compressor burning out due to low oil or am I fine?

Is there away to tell the low oil is burning out the compressor?

When the liquid line blows it always looks like a crapload of oil comes out. In reality, it's very little. You shouldn't have any issues from low oil.
