House Ceiling and drywall question

This isn't in my garage but I would imagine it could relate. Any help from the expert would be greatly appreciated.

My house has vaulted ceiling and at the top were the drywall comes together at the angle is starting to crack. I'm not sure if it has been like that for a while but I just noticed it.

Also I might too picky but I notice a lot of imperfects in my drywall throughout the house. Such as waves. Looks like someone slapped it together without really caring.

Has anyone run into this? Am I too picky or should I let it go? As for the vaulted ceilings I'd love to get rid of the drywall and put up some nice pine or wood slats.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Rule #1 in construction.....NO wall is straight.

If this is a newer house and the walls were built using 2x4's instead of 2x6....it's normal.

They basically just slap them to gether now days.

On your crack....take some white paintable calk....fill up the crack....let it dry and then run the paint brush over it to match....

Get used to the cracks...especially if you live in the NE.

BTW....it helps to have your apx location in your profile....helps determine what kind of help you need.

Haven't you heard? Florida is going to fall into the gulf of Cuba....but a possible solution is in store.....they are taking all those hanging chad's and glueing them together with Dentucream to shore up the land mass.

As for the crack where the ceiling comes together at the top of the ceiling. I have used a 1 x 6 of good quality and made a moulding to cover the crack. Jus bevel the edges to match the pitch of your ceiling. Use ceiling white and it will look normal, better than trying to match the drywall color.
