I'm not sure where to start so here we go...I'm thinking of extending one side of the house to build the new attached garage. This end of the house contains the current garage with the master bedroom on top. My plan is to simply add on to the side and extend the master bedroom roof to go over the new garage. What this would add is about a 20' wide x 34' deep x 17' tall of garage space.
I'm sure that others have done this so I'd like to see some before/after pics if possible. I wasn't sure how to search for something like this but will keep trying.
I'm having an architect friend stop by today to discuss the project. He'll make me some drawings that can be used for the bidding process. Until that happens, I have no idea of the project cost or time frame.
In case anyone is thinking of a detached work shop, the terrain around the house is not flat by any means. The only possible spot for a workshop is close to the house and the shear size of it would overwhelm the house. More importantly SWMBO
didn't approve!!
