OT but maybe some one here might know. I bought a 6" retro fit LED with recessed trim at HD just to try out in our living room. I can't see the tag in the can I picked to test (PITA anyway at 10' off the ground) because of the texture overspray. can only see the BR30 blub type LOL. Anyway, the LED retro won't hang because it seems these pots are not like what's currently sold. There is no place to hook the hang wires. Also, these measure what looks like 6 1/4". They use a trim with friction wires that slide on the smooth sides of the can and a bulb socket that uses a pair of wires in tension to hold the bulb up in the fixture.
Anyone familiar with that type of can? Manufacturer or other info? Probably 2000, 2001 year vintage as the house was built in 2001. At this point, looks like BR30 LED retrofit bulb is our only option. This house is nice but seems full of one off and/or obsolete parts. I expect these were something out of builder's stash pile. I'd be inclined to retro fit the cans with an old work 6" can but I'm afraid the holes are larger than current can sizes.

The Canuks have pot lights.
