im looking at houses in st George Utah that have an rv garage. I don't have an rv but I work on cars so I plan on putting a lift on that side.

I have a friend that recently bought a house with an RV garage in St George. They love the area and do a ton of off-roading. Their builder was Rock Solid and he said a builder named Shooting Star also builds them.

Boy that's bad .. why bother designing a house if you are going to put that monstrosity next to it.

I love proper buildings -- good design.

Your picture is why zoning laws are needed !

After it's painted to match the house, it'll blend much better. Looking at the pic, that's likely unincorporated Pima County (So AZ/Vail area), and I personally love the fact that he built what he wanted to build. Anyone that bought in that subdivision knew when they purchased what the rules were, and if they didn't like them, they could've chosen elsewhere.

Enjoy your homeowners association rules and regs though....

I'd put a rear thru door in if i were building an rv building.

Regarding zoning laws, those laws are bought by the deepest pockets. As long as a building is built to current code & it satisfies the owners end goal for their purpose; make it happen!

It's still going to be ugly .. as is the house anyway.

I'm all for building what you want .. but. that's a mess. There is almost always some way to do it correctly. I like good design and would not get a warm fuzzy feeling driving into that.

And try selling it ... it needed a bigger lot.

I don't have an RV but instead a travel trailer and would love to have a clean and dry place with the power and sewer requirements needed.

So after 6 months of building the garage/house, it's finally getting closer to being completed. New closing date is now July 27th, which is a bit hot in Phx AZ to move but whatever, its happening! The house now has been dry-walled and textured, cabinets installed and a few other items. Anyway, here's a few picks that were taken along the way of the garage(s).

It looks great! Moving in July won't be fun but that memory will fade. Closing with a super low interest rate is a nice perk that you will fondly remember for many years to come. Welcome to QC!

Most definitely, low interest rates make moving and such much more tolerable lol. Thanks!

very nice, just saw on another forum, someone with the same model home. I was surprised to see an rv garage. they got it for their lifted truck. best thing you can do right now is take pictures in the garage and home, i bought a 360 camera when our house was made, i use it so much to go back and look where studs, pipes and electrical are run.

Several houses in our development have the RV garage. It is built as just another bay in a 3 or 4 bay garage.

One neighbor built what we all thought was going to be an RV garage, detached. But we were all puzzled that there was no overhead door, only 2 man doors. I finally asked him what it was. It's a racquetball court.

We've learned that trick the hard way after our first build, never again! I have about 200-250 pics just for the garages lol!

That's something you don't see in a neighborhood everyday!

I saw some of these driving around newer neighborhoods out by me in the White Tanks area. I think those were even detached from the house. Pretty neat option for a new-build. Even if you don't have an RV, that will make for a great work-space. Sure beats working out of a standard garage, especially if you want to park vehicles in there! Congrats and drink lots of water during the move! ;)
