Houston Here

[Mendolat]

I bought a house down here in Pearland, TX. We traveled all the way from Las Vegas. My dad was a master carpenter and refused to teach me the trade but I always watched and learned as much as I could. I love to build and modify everything. He unfortunately isn't with us anymore. For the first time in my life I have a unfinished detached garage. I need help and input to finish it.

Mendo: sorry to hear Dad is gone now that he knows your passion for building or fixing things. congrats on the new home and let us help teach you what you need to know. a lot of handy guys and gals here on this forum so if you get in with the right bunch with your posts and reading you'll learn as much and probably more than you thought possible.

By the looks of your garage I will guess you are more on the East side of Pearland.
I am also on the east side of Pearland so , Welcome.

Truth be told just a guess, but I did apply logic.

The west side of Pearland has really sprouted up only in the Last 15 years.
(The city went From about 27,500 people to over 100,000 from 2000 to 2013)
Pearland is about 50 square miles
The wood on the inside of the garage looked to be from the 70's or earlier
(Back when they built stuff to last)
By reason of deduction, east side was a logical choice.
