Yes Mickey they are Geneva metal Kitchen cabinets . I ran an add on craigslist in louisville saying I was looking for Old Metal kitchen cabinets . I had no response for about 2 or 3 weeks then I got an email from a guy said he had 14 feet of cabinets if I wanted them . I filled My Astro extended van twice he had 14 feet worth but they were stacked 3 high as well :wtf: .

No problem. I'm a longtime GM guy but my wife likes the Mopar minivans, too.

I do like the Ford unibody pickups.

OK day 2 of the redo :D . Got the lower rear wall cabinets painted and installed today . With any luck I will have the rest of the peg board up and the counter installed on this section tomorrow night :D. I included a closeup of the name ttag on the lower sink base they are Geneva cabinets. The drawer unit to the left side of the lowers will get a coat of True Ford Blue as well.

Counter tops will be 2X6 frame with plywood and then covered in galvanised sheet metal normally used to make air conditioning ducts.

Man...that is going to be more than a weekend project for sure. But it is looking good so far:thumbup: I figured out a long time ago...if it hasn't been used in a year, either toss it out to the curb for someone else to use, or sell it in a sale. Time is too short not to be able to enjoy the garage!!!!!!!!!

:D Dont worry Beetroot I have a cleaner that will get the overspray off before I epoxy the floor .

Rick

I wouldn't be that worried about getting up. What floor system are you going to use? If you degrease and etch it and that still dosent' take it up then paint right over it.

However, if you mechanically abrade the surface that will take it up for sure.

otherwise looking good dude!

Rick

My basement is as bad as your starting point. I had a friend recently ask if the Trashman dropped stuff off instead of picking stuff up.

I was wondering who unearthed this thread. When I seen it was you well I was surprised . Even with the mess it looks 1000% better. I must say, I miss the air conditioned sink in the 1st picture. Congrats on making progress.

Looking like a real garage again! Good effort and great score on those metal cabinets. Are you planning on coating the floor 'wall-to-wall' or just up to the cabinet bases? Are the base cabinets on the concrete or are they be set on flat 2X4 pressure treated lumber? What happened to all the accumulated schhhitufff? LOL

Ompha I still havent decided on flooring and honestly if I do coat the floor it will most likely just go to the cabinets Whiich are set directly on the floor . I meed to get some new pics up as I have changed the layout quite a bit with the lower cabinets . I still have plenty of **** in here but I did get rid of quite a bit ( including the airconditioned sink ) :D. I also still have a pile of cabinets that I havent painted yet either :D. I put up a shed to get rid of alot of stuff from the garage and honestly need a second shed which I have and just havent gotten up yet.I do use my garage which is part of the problem with flooring as I havent seen a flooring product yet besides comcrete that will stand up to welding and grinding abuse .

That's one of the best before and afters I have seen. I LOVE the cabinets and I LOVE the color. The whole thing looks great. I can tell that you are a slob like me though, and I don't hold out much hope that it will good for very long. :dunno:

Now I like that a lot! that is a nice subtle color scheme that I could relate too ( and probably steal) Looks like you use it, which is a plus, and I am with Red on this one, lets get that floor going, you will have one wicked garage!

Yeah fire was in the basement and my basement stairs are in the garage so needless to say I have alot of smoke damage out here . I have redone everything in the house now so the garage is next on the list of refinishing.
