For the overall thread that's good, but what about something like that for each post? I think I've seen a "Like" button and/or a "Thank you" button on some other websites. Just an idea...

The "like" feature was something I wasn't fond of on other sites either, as it did seem high school, or facebooky.

Now I am a huge fan of the like feature. It provides positive feedback to those individuals pouring huge amounts of their own personal project time to post up excellent pictures and explanations for their work. We have to show some appreciation for those people right?

When we do that without the like feature, we at least double the thread size, and detract from the OP message. It is also time consuming to read through pages of extraneous information. If you're like me and you really want to express your appreciation for the experts that take their time to help us all out but don't want to muck up their threads, but also want to show appreciation, the like feature is the best solution I have seen.
