good idea but mostly of time all members will go on Free parking to ask anything questions about vehicles or job, or ETC...

I think if we had an automotive section we wouldn't have to wade through everything in between,just all automotive,no questions about, do you think my shoes i purchase yesterday was a good deal or not,or what's your favorite game show.I'm sure all the gear heads would appreciate this.

ust all automotive topics after all,we all mostly build garages,buy tools,epoxy our floors,heat our garages for the purpose of working on our vehicles.

There are enough vehicle specific sites out there for all the various models. General automotive questions get asked in Free Parking, but I think you'd be better served going elsewhere for specific questions.

But why go elsewhere? Why not get it all here,a one stop shop?Why not promote a forum with everything we need and want.Let's give it try what can go wrong.
We go to one store to buy eggs,milk,clothing,toys,soap,electronics we have to fashioned this site to a Walmart,everything is right here,no need for other forums.

Because I can go to a forum that has ten years worth of information on my 6.5TD engine, over 25,000 members - people who have rebuilt a dozen of the engines, people who have towed hundreds of thousands of miles with them - and I can find the answer in a snap.

Because I can go to a SAAB forum with 42,000 members which has a dozen years of posts about my car and I can find the answer, parts numbers, and classified ads just for my car.

Because I can go to a 4x4 forum with 120,000 members - people from all over the world that have modified their trucks in every way imaginable, are building every part imaginable, and can answer any question imaginable.

I come here because it has more information about garages and shops than any of those others do - although lately there seems to be more information about what people are buying on eBay... But I don't expect to be able to get the kinds of answers on any of my vehicles that I get at those other places because the 25,000 members are everything from old car restorers to street racers to go cart folks to truck people to....

I agree with PAToyota -- for all teh reasons he listed

If we do cars (sports, sedans, muscle, off-roaders, etc) then there would need to be motorcycles followed by the wood-workers and the shipwrights with a small section for ATVers and snowmobilers.

great idea, we just need a section for Dino's and another for Singer's.

Seriously, the problem with this idea is the variety of cars that could be created, I think it would not work at all because we are a varied group with a wide variety of car makes. Besides I already run a Singer forum, don't want competition
