Here’s a sneak peek of a new Craftsman USA socket coming out of the Fort Worth plant that someone else shared online. I can’t tell if it’s an impact or a socket that hasn’t been chromed. Maybe a sign that they’re coming very soon?

I'm still excited. I'd love to know why the long delays, but I'm still looking forward to the release. I'd love to have MiUSA sets that can be beaten on or lost and not cost me a small fortune to replace. I'd love it even more if I could walk into an ACE or Lowes and get these, unlike the V Series stuff which is nowhere to be found.

...which is pretty much how I remember it being fifty years ago. I didn't have a lot of money to spend on tools then, but if I lost a Craftsman wrench or socket it wasn't a big deal. Run out to Sears and get a new one and they weren't priced like they were made of gold.

I can 100% tell you that the design looks similar to the leaked 3/8” drive sockets I got ahold of on eBay over a year and an half ago.

Ran across these this morning on eBay. The seller has/had a couple different lots for sale. Look closely and you’ll see they are in fact stamped “USA” and have the same design as the current Stanley/Craftsman Taiwanese sockets. So the question is... are these finally being released or did they...

The pictures of those sockets are mine. I posted them in another thread on here. Someone was selling them on eBay a couple of years ago and I snatched them up. Several of them had the double detents on the drive end. I do not believe they will be what you see whenever the final product is released.

AKA, made elsewhere, assembled in USA. We had a local TV “manufacturer“ here in SC that was doing the same thing. They didn’t last too long.

Element scammed the Assembled claim, not the Made In claim. Big difference, but a scammer is a scammer nonetheless.
