Detached 2 story 2 car garage(25 x 27),insulated downstairs with interior walls(4 ft osb,4 ft pegboard,1 ft osb at the top), vinyl soffit for ceiling with 24k btu window unit. Permanent stairs to 2nd floor, 20 x 20 room with partition wall with door at top of stairs, fully insulated ready for walls and ceiling. Considering osb and vinyl to match downstairs,sheetrock, wall planks($$$). Opinions,suggestions,observations.

I have finished the upstairs room to the insulation.

It is time to put up walls and a ceiling.

I need to select the material to use for walls and ceilings.

I have read all the facts pro and con on various materials.

I am asking for opinions about what to use.

I am considering drywall, osb, t111, planks, etc for the walls.

I am considering vinyl for the ceiling.

Depending on what you plan to do up there, I would use finished on one side plywood for the walls, so I could screw things anywhere I wanted without worrying too much about where the studs were. Drop ceiling.

I know what he is asking......what should he use to finish the walls on the second floor room....OSB and vinyl like downstairs or drywall or something else.

I would do drywall....second floor room is not likely to be used to garage work. Drywall can be made to look better....and will be more quiet....and it will most likely be cheaper.
