Just curious what new and innovative ways you are using for your storage of tools and other various parts. Here are some that I am thinking of building. Mostly with woodworking in mind, on my part.

Can't get much better than that middle pic. Anything can can use space between stud walls would be great too (like a medicine cabinet only on a larger scale).

These aren't wooden but this is the route I chose. I built a bunch of these - one for each area and I wish I had built more.

Those storage cabinets are super sweet . . . if I had tools to do those drawers I'd love to make a setup like that. I've got a pile of 1 inch square tubing just sitting in the floor . . . hmm.

Do what I'm doing and use 1/8" plywood for the drawers! Maybe not as bling, but certainly strong enough! (so far) You can still put SS or aluminium or whatever for the drawer faces to dress it up. I'm casting aluminium drawer faces for mine.

Awesome Design by MXtra's - Better than anything I could ever have dreamed up!

Cool Got Any Pics?

I'm at the stage of test fitting a drawer. Sorry, NO closeups of the welds. They were all done with a little 70 Amp Buzz Box.

First pic is the frame. Second one is trying to get a shot of the drawer face. It has a tapered 1" edge on the top for grabbing with gloves on. You can see on the front where the sprue on the casting was. I think for the next castings I will use different gating to try and get rid of that effect.

Plans for Scott's stuff is here.

I've got way too much **** in my 20 x 20 right now, so all the equipment is on wheels. Aside from that, here's the storage:

Sheet and long stuff:

Short Drops:

Workbench with totes below and tools in cases above (lighting below):

Office furniture "check" cabiinets and totes above:

The rest is just TOO messy...

Dang Cebby, you've got a lot of stuff!!! What all do you have in those cases above your workbench?

Those are all power tools for the most part. Mostly woodworking - circular saw, jigsaw, power planer, metal shears, various air nailers, biscuit joiner, routers, recipro saw, autofeed screwgun, dremel, then all the wood boxes on the right are mostly wood cutter sets - rail/style shaper set, router bit set, chisels, lathe tools, etc. I'm probably forgetting some stuff...

That "tool loft" was one of the best things I built for my shop - it was pretty much under utilized space (just pegboard), so it keeps my drawers open for hand tools. Well...except for this one...

Here is my option. They are MDF, cheap, plenty strong, only 12 inches deep so they don't take up a lot of room. I bolted them together and to the wall. Screwed a white 1 X 12 to the top for more storage. They contain a lot of weight. 1 is completely filled with auto paints and the shelves show no sign of bending or problems. 1 is filled with fluids for the race car (engine oil, gear lube, brake fluid, etc.). Garage is 24' deep so I can put a car in that bay and still walk around it.

It's a type of particle board. You can buy them at Lowes, Home Depot, etc.
