Boy is this ever a loaded question. But after searching this site I cannot find how big(dimensions) my shop/garage needs to be.
A little background is in order.
House sits on 1.25 acre. Estimated shop/garage size 3000sqft. County Island no HOA restrictions. Block construction with steel trusses, approx 30' span between trusses. Overhead crane in 1 bay.supported off the trusses.
I've got a draftsman and a steel construction co helping me out with details/engineering. Main shop area will be 45'deep 75'long.
Question being how high & wide do I need to make a single bay to park a Bus type RV, Prevost type?
I do not own one now, I may never. But I want the RV bay big enough to house it in case I decide to sell ever.
I have a 40" 5th wheel that I will be parking in it but I dont want to build it too that spec and have it too small for a full size Class A.
TIA
Phil

Standard bus is 102" wide, and 40' long. Coaches are often up to 45' long. As far as I know nothing can exceed 102" wide on North American roadways. (Body/chassis width, not including mirrors)

I'd give yourself 2.5' on each side of your door way, unless you have a bunch of run at it to square up the vehicle, in which case you could probably take it down a few inches per side to 2'. I'm not too familiar with RV mirrors, so if they are using something massive then you may have to add a little more space.

I installed a 12' door in a 14' bay for my 5th wheel and would not like to have a smaller door. The other consideration is length as previous poster stated. Could the "new" RV be 45'? If so it will not fit the 45' bldg. My bldg. is 4' bigger than originally planned after we pulled a tape out and measured the RV - whoops, it an't going to fit!
