How can I seal this garage door?

Hey everyone. Have a problem I cant really figure out how to go about it. The garage door I have has 3 panels on hinges. As the door opens theres a gap that gets to about 3/4 to 1" wide. And allows all the water to drip onto my car. I try to keep my car very clean, and constantly getting water on it drives me nuts lol. So what would be my best solution for this? The gap when the door is closed is very tight. Probably 1/16-1/8". Im not sure jamming anything in there will cause the hinges or anything to bend? I linked a video so you can see what Im talking about. Thanks for the help!

I don't really think there's much that can be done because it needs to articulate. Perhaps getting a seal that overlaps from the bottom of each upper/top panel but isn't attached to it?

WAG. But I’ve heard of something called maybe a green hinge? That seems to be more sealed?

Don't open the door during or after a rain. It's a pretty moot point if you're going to take the car out when it's wet anyway, right?

It’s a 2car garage. Daily is in there also.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I figured not much could really be done, just wasn’t sure if I was missing something. I think I’ll try just putting an awning over the garage to try and divert the rain so it doesn’t collect

I wonder if the door was assembled correctly. If water gets into the small gap between panels when it is closed does it run down and to the outside or to the inside?

It’s more so only when the door opens. I don’t notice any water on the inside while the door is closed.

Nature of the beast. The geometry of the door itself requires that gap to open when it runs up the track. You could design a door to avoid that, but the water will still drip off. The space between panels would never be watertight.

Anyway.. brainstorming...
They make a rollup door that doesn't do that. These tend to be commercial and they're uglier.
Kickout doors would not do that, but I don't think anybody makes them anymore.
You could consider modifying the house so that the garage door never gets wet.
You could create something inside the garage that the water will hit instead of your car. That would be strange, and you might have to duck, but it's not impossible. If the "something" was a gutter attached to the door itself, it would be unobtrusive.

This is a reason to have "single" garage doors that I hadn't considered.

They make 4" rubber strips that are thin. These would be adhesive and screwed between each panel you want to block the water from coming through. When the door is up, these will be mostly flat, when you close the door they will bunch in the middle. Note that water will stay in this rubber diaper until it evaporates, so watch for smell like you would a front loading washing machine with a rubber seal. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091DSYN4V?tag=atomicindus08-20

Put a cover over the special car is the cheapest and easiest option.
